How we learn in Reception
Each element is as important as the others. Adults also, observe and interact as a way to see how the children are learning.
Child led: learning experiences that the child is in control of in terms of resources, time and outcome.
Adult led: Individual, pair or group work, which is differentiated for the child’s needs.
Adult initiated: Activities that arise from adult planning, sufficiently open ended for children to stay engaged until an adult is ready to support.
