Welcome to St Denys Church of England Infant School.
Dear parents, carers and visitors,
On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I warmly welcome you to St Denys CE Infant School in Ibstock. We are a vibrant, inclusive and family orientated 3-form entry Infant school with a 15 place Resource Base for children with Communication & Interaction and Cognition & Learning Needs.
At St Denys we believe in providing the best possible start for all our pupils on their journey as life-long learners. Our dedicated team works hard to make sure our school is a happy, safe place, where our nurturing approach coupled with learning opportunities rooted in real experiences, all help our children to thrive. We seek to build upon the experiences each child brings from home.
All staff at St Denys, both teaching and support staff work as a team. We are committed to the development of each child as an individual. Our aim is to encourage children to work to the best of their abilities and realise their full potential in all aspects of learning and development social, emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual and moral. We see each child as a unique individual person, which is represented by our motto “Each one of us is different, Each one of us is special”.
It is our sincere hope that by working together as a partnership of staff, parents and governors we will ensure that the children have the best opportunities for progress and will aspire to our high expectations. This will provide a deep and firm foundation for the whole of their school life and beyond.
We have excellent links with our local community, working closely with Ibstock Junior School, along with other local schools in our commitment to continuing to develop teaching and learning. As a Church of England Infant School, we work closely with our local church St Denys in Ibstock. We also have links with the Ibstock Baptist Church Foodbank and the Diocese of Leicester.
We do hope you enjoy our website, through which we aim to give you an overview of our school along with regular, up-to-date information for children and parents. Should you wish to find out more, please don’t hesitate to contact us with us any questions, to request a prospectus or to arrange a visit.
As Headteacher, I very much look forward to meeting you and, together with all staff, fostering a happy and trusting partnership with you and your family.
Mrs Cheryl Sargeant
