Welcome to Willow Class
A Specialist Resource Base for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
Willow Class is a 15 place Specialist Resource Base attached to the Mainstream C of E Infant School. We have a purpose built classroom which includes full changing facilities and small breakout space. Within school we also have a small Sensory Room.
The children that attend have a wide variety of needs including Speech and Language Difficulties, Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Downs Syndrome and many others. We are supported by a range of external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Autism Outreach. The staff in the Unit are all highly experienced in working with children with special educational needs and disabilities and are always learning and developing their skills to ensure they are giving their best to the children within the Unit. We pride ourselves on our Communication and Interaction and we are a language rich environment.
Learning is tailored to each individual child and they receive high levels of adult support throughout the day to ensure they are making good progress in all areas of their learning including their individual outcomes in their EHCP's. Our teaching and learning is rooted in practical, play based and sensory experiences.
